Majority of Americans Believe in the Devil

A majority of Americans believe in the devil, especially blacks and women, according to a new national poll about exorcism. The YouGov survey found that fifty-seven percent believe the devil exists (seventy-two percent for African Americans and sixty-one percent for women).

Republicans said the devil exists more than Democrats, sixty-five percent to fifty-five percent. The poll coincides with headline disasters, killings, etc., bolstered by reports that the new Pope Francis is obsessed with the devil and exorcisms.
