The Relationship of the Father and the Son

Churches and denominations the world over describe Jesus as “God the Son.” This constitutes an obvious and fundamental difference between [first century Christianity] and the popular Christian denominations today. The widespread belief in the Trinity is so central to [mainstream] Christian theology, that [those who disagree] have been charged with not being true “Christians” for rejecting the doctrine that the Father and the Son are co-equal beings.

While the Trinity and support for the Trinity does not appear in Scripture, the Trinitarian misunderstanding and misrepresentation of Bible truth has existed for centuries. Trinitarian ideas originated from Platonic and later Greek philosophic ideas about God, which were introduced by influential members of the [Christian church] beginning in the second century. Even after being introduced, the doctrine of the Trinity was not the universal belief of the [Christians]. It was only after the Council of Nicaea in the fourth century (a proceeding greatly influenced by the Emperor Constantine) that the Father and the Son were declared to be the same, and those who had the correct understanding of God and Christ as separate beings were gradually driven away.

The Scriptures clearly demonstrate the fallacy that the Father and the Son are co-equal beings within a Trinitarian God-head. The Bible teaches a distinct difference between God and His son, Jesus Christ. The relationship of Jesus to his Father can be described as:
