“Now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first-fruits of them that slept.” (1 Corinthians 15:20)
In the opening verses of the 15th chapter of the First Epistle to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul seems to give first place in the Christian Creed to the Doctrine of the Resurrection. He sets forth some of the evidences for the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and goes on to argue that the resurrection of Jesus was the “type” of a general resurrection of the sleeping dead after the Second Coming of Christ.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the first-fruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his corning.
