Evil Spirits

“For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.” (Acts 8:7)

“Unclean spirits” is an Aramaic term used to describe lunatics.  The Eastern text reads: “Many, who were mentally afflicted, cried with loud voices and were restored.”  The Aramaic word Akhidan-way, means possessed with insanity or the power of the devil.
