The Holy Spirit As A She

The Hebrew Bible depicts YHWH as a “male” God and ... in subsequent traditional Jewish usage, such as the liturgy, God is addressed in the masculine gender.

Ruah [Hebrew: spirit] is one of the rare Hebrew words that can have both masculine and feminine gender, but in Rabbinic use it is overwhelmingly in the feminine gender.¹ Interestingly, this is recognized in Ecclesiastes Rabbah 7:40:
