A Hygienic Code

The relative importance of the Ten Commandments is demonstrated by the fact that they were written by the hand of God himself, and were placed in the Ark.

The other portions of the Divine law were given to Moses verbally. These sub-codes include the rules laid down by God for the prevention and cure of disease. This section of the law is just as inspired as the decalogue, and it is the earliest health code of the world. The Divine code of hygienic laws communicated to Moses constitutes an elaborate system of preventive and curative medicine, but the emphasis is laid on the preventive aspect.

In Egypt a system of curative medicine was practised, but God instituted a better system for his people, one which, if studied, will be found to be of profound value containing priceless practical wisdom.
