The Book with a Blessing

“Apocalypse” is the English form of the Greek word rendered “Revelation” in the opening verse of the last book of the Bible. The name is almost exclusively applied to that particular Last Message from Christ to distinguish it from the rest of Scripture, although the Bible as a whole is also a “revelation” or “apocalypse” of Goers will and purpose.

It has rightly been designated “the Book with a Blessing,” in that its Giver declares “Blessed is he that readeth.”1 To neglect its study, therefore, is to deprive ourselves of one of the greatest aids to faith, specially provided for those who would be “servants” of Christ indeed.

The Apocalypse supplies most convincing evidence of the divine control of human affairs to a destined happy end, which, nevertheless, has to be reached through storm and tempest. In pleading for a diligent study of this book, the Apocalypse may seem too profound at first sight...
