His Days Shall Be an Hundred and Twenty Years

With reference to· the Note in the May 1957 Testimony, I enclose a list of the ages of the men in postdiluvian days of whom we have a record of the length of their lives.

The list supplied by our correspondent starts with Shem, who lived 600 years, and the list reveals a rapid reduction in human ages, so that by the time we arrive at Terah, the father of Abraham, his age was a mere 205 years . . . a great age, judging by modern standards, but a shortish life when compared with men who lived before the Flood, when human life frequently exceeded 900 years.
