Marriage and the Christian Life

I am aware that the subject upon which I have been asked to write is by no means an easy one.

If we marry, does it mean that our loyalty, service and love for our Lord are in danger of being overshadowed by our earthly love?

We would see Jesus; yet the spirit lingers
Round the dear objects it has loved so long.
And earth from earth can scarce unclasp its fingers;
Our love to thee scarce makes this love less strong.
