Six Arguments Fatal to the Theory of Evolution

On Feb. 2, 1937, a public debate was held in England between Mr. Joseph McCabe representing the Rationalist Press Association (RPA) and Mr. Douglas Dewar representing the Evolution Protest Movement (EPM). The RPA had among its adherents such distinguished biologists as J. S. Huxley, J. B. S. Haldane and H. G. Wells. Mr. McCabe was an Honourary Associate of the RPM. Mr. Douglas Dewar was Fellow of the Zoological Society and also a Barrister-at-Law.

It was the intention of the EPM to publish the contents of the debate in a book but Mr. McCabe refused to have his contribution to the debate published. Accordingly, the EPM published Mr. Dewar’s speeches unilaterally and what follows is a transcript of the six points made by Mr. Dewar which are fatal to the theory of evolution.

The title of the debate was: “That the Weight of Evidence is Against the Theory of Evolution”.
