Wood Supply

“Make upright beams for the Tabernacle out of acacia wood.” (Exodus 26:15)

Where did all the wood come from? When Jacob went down to Egypt, he planted acacia trees. Why did he do this? He saw that his descendants would eventually be redeemed by the LORD and would be commanded to make the Tabernacle. Therefore, in order to make sure that they would, indeed, be able to fulfill the LORD’S command, Jacob planted the trees so that they would be ready when needed—(Midrash Tanchuma).
