Sin and Its Origin

Recollections of an address heard in Edinburgh.—

“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning”.1

In these words the beloved apostle indicates the relationship of sinners to an influence that has been associated with sin from the commencement of human history. They are “of it,” or belong to it, and thereby serve it in their lawlessnesses.
