Two Kinds of Angels: Mortal and Immortal

“I have heard widely differing opinions on the meaning of ‘the angels that sinned’ referred to in Jude 1:6… Is it possible to have an explanation of these verses please?”

Initially—for those who have a copy—we would suggest a re-reading of the article “Angels” in the September 1956 issue of The Testimony. It is there pointed out that there are two kinds of angels—mortal and immortal. The word “angel” primarily means “one sent”; but because, to be effective, the “one sent” has to have the authority of the sender, the word gradually came to mean “one in authority,” and several examples are given in the above article.
