Being in the Form of God

Jesus...being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God; but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant. (Philippians 2:5-11)

These verses are taken [by many people] to mean that Jesus was God, but at his birth he became a man. A [single] verse cannot be allowed to contradict the general tenor of Bible teaching. It is significant that this is almost the only passage which can be brought forward to explain away the “missing link” in trinitarian reasoning — [i.e.,] how Jesus transferred himself from being God in Heaven to being a baby in Mary’s womb. The following analysis seeks to demonstrate what this passage really means.
