The Key to Bible Understanding: The Spirit of God

“Holy” means set apart, special, or sanctified for sacred purpose. Examples: holy priesthood, holy prophets, holy people, holy day, etc. Daniel 8:24; Exodus 19:6; 1 Peter 2:5.

They mean the same. “Ghost” is an old fashioned word abandoned by all recent translators and no longer used. Holy Spirit as used in the Bible means a special manifestation of the power of the Creator for some particular purpose. The expression is to distinguish this from what many call the “free spirit,” or the universal all-pervading power that controls and sustains all things that exist. Acts 17:24-31; Psalms 104; 51:12.
